Happy Birthday x 2

When I was pregnant with Nathan, my due date was July 8, the day before Adam's birthday. Can you believe that my loving husband wished me to be 1 day overdue when I gave birth to our first baby!? He said it would immortalize him, because everyone would focus on the baby's birthday instead of his birthday, and therefore he wouldn't be as old. I'm not sure how that logic works out, but it doesn't matter because Nathan was born a week and a half earlier than his due date (thankfully!). Despite the fact they don't have the same birthday, it does mean that we have the opportunity to celebrate their birthdays together, which is what we did yesterday (on Adam's birthday). We did a pirate theme and made a yummy pasta bar with marinara sauce and alfredo sauce, homemade rolls, and fresh fruits and veggies. For dessert we did chocolate cupcakes with blue frosting (per Nathan's request) that I topped with sprinkles and a pirate coin, as well as mini banana cream pies (for Adam). We also set up a pirate treasure hunt for all of Nathan's cousins to go on to find their goodie bags. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us, as well as those who sent cards and gifts. Adam and Nathan had a great celebration! I also need to thank Adam's brother and sister-in-law for letting us crash their house Saturday afternoon to bake all the goodies for the party since our oven stopped working the day before! So thanks Ryan and Corinne! Oh, and current ages? Adam: 27, Nathan: 3

For Nathan's actual birthday, I made him special Mickey Mouse pancakes in the morning and he got to go see his first movie in the theater- Cars 2. He loved it!

Cute pictures! Happy birthday, Nathan and Adam. (I will ALWAYS focus on your birthday/age. You are so old.)

What fun! I love the Mickey Mouse pancakes. Also Adam's idea of Nathan being born on his birthday to keep him from getting old is really funny. Happy Birthday, guys!
